The service of those who are most deprived draws its strength from the contemplation of Jesus Christ, who often went aside to pray. In this Prayer Corner, at the beginning of each month, a presentation will be offered to help you nourish and deepen your inner life and discover the meaning of Vincentian spirituality.
Pilgrim
Those who make the pilgrimage to the shrine of St James discover the stories taught by the road and learn this wisdom: The only thing which lasts is the uninterrupted pursuit of that which is bigger than oneself. Ultimately, the only thing that counts is finding God!
It is not by chance that the image of the journey is a recurrent theme in the Bible: Human beings, who have their origin in heaven , are pilgrims on earth. All our life we are on the journey to becoming fully human - children of God.
There is Someone who knows the end of the road: the One who lays down his life, the One who calls us. We can put our hand in his, because he is the way, the truth and life: Jesus Christ.
"Go," he says, even if you do not know where your feet will take you,
Go. I will be your God, your peace, your joy
I am walking with you. Do not be afraid. "
