Prayer Corner
The service of those who are most deprived draws its strength from the contemplation of Jesus Christ, who often went aside to pray. In this Prayer Corner, at the beginning of each month, a presentation will be offered to help you nourish and deepen your inner life and discover the meaning of Vincentian spirituality.

"In this lived union with a 'people' ...... our gaze opens out to the source of joy, to love itself—to God." (Benedict XVI, "Spes salvi", No. 14)”.

As the author, Jose Luis Martin Descalzo, wrote: "Now is the favourable time to speak about joy, not the joy of those moments when everything is going well, but that joy which continues to deepen even in difficulties. It seems to me that this is the meaning of the Christian beatitude: the poor are not promised joy because they will cease to be poor … but the joy promised to them is one that offers more reasons for joy than for sadness." (Jose Luis Martin Descalzo, Razones para la alegria – Reasons for Joy)

Only deep joy can fill our lives, a joy that lasts forever. Only the joy of feeling God's loving presence can help us to live what Saint Paul described when he wrote: “Rejoice in the Lord always. Let your gentleness be known to everyone". (Phil. 4, 4)
