Daughters of Charity feel called. There is an absolute in their life. They have met someone :
Jesus Christ,
who spent his life doing good.
In silence and prayer and through the service which they offer their brothers and sisters, they foster a personal relationship with him. |
It is this relationship which is the source of the outpouring of their love; the fire which sets their actions ablaze; the passion that compels them towards the poorest; the dynamism which inspires their projects; the treasure which gives direction and meaning to their lives.
Daughters of Charity live simply, in community celebrating life and faith together; sharing all they are and all that they possess. They go where people suffer and through support and friendship promote their development. Acting in complete freedom, they leave their home to go to those whose dignity is not respected, to bring joy and hope. They are glad to be able to give their lives to the Lord by serving others, and happy that their service can spark off an encounter with God.
Convinced of the need for Justice and Peace to embrace - Daughters of Charity try to build, stone by stone, a more just society, a new world where there will be no more death , no more hunger, no more tears or pain…
for everyone.
