The 190th Anniversary Apparition to Catherine Labouré
Introduction: The 190th anniversary of the apparitions of the Virgin Mary to Saint Catherine Labouré in Paris is a significant occasion to remember. In Catherine’s time, a terrible cholera epidemic was spreading in Paris, causing thousands of deaths; today, we are living during the COVID-19 pandemic that is raging all over the world. This, too, is a time to live in faith and listen once again to the Blessed Virgin’s words concerning the medal that she addressed to Saint Catherine during the apparition of 27 November 1830: “Those who wear it with confidence will receive abundant graces”. Let us wear it with faith and encourage others to wear the medal that Mary wanted to give to each person and to all of humanity!
