Consecration of the Nursing Home Chapel in Tarnów, Cracow Province, Poland
The mission of the Daughters of Charity who have consciously embraced the call of Jesus Christ to love God and neighbor, is not only to help assure a dignified life for our brothers and sisters in need, but also, above all, to care for their sanctity and their personal relationship with God.
Holiness is a response to God’s call, God’s Word. While each person is personally called to make this response, external conditions are of great importance. Beauty is God’s Presence and it appeals to everyone not only to the intellectually capable. Thus, seeing the difficulties posed by the small space of our chapel, we decided to make every effort to change it.
Our desire was to achieve harmony and proportion that would help bring peace and inner tranquility. One of our residents asked: “Sister, make heaven for us.” And, it seems that the request was to some extent fulfilled “for the glory of God and the benefit of the people”. The new chapel was consecrated on January 20, 2022 by His Excellency, Bishop Stanisław Salaterski in the presence of invited guests.
This beautiful chapel was made possible because of the generous hearts of many persons who helped us in carrying out this work. We thank our benefactors who were instruments of God’s generosity.
We thank everyone for this gift which is actually prayer, adoration and personal sanctification.
Sr. Joanna Sutowicz, DC
