VINCENTIANA 2021 – Youth Festival

On June 27, 2021 a group of young people from Łomża, Warsaw and Przasnysz, Poland visited with great joy the Provincial House of the Daughters of Charity in Warsaw. Sister Katarzyna, Seminary Directress and Sister Anna, Seminary Sister welcomed the young people with a smile and an open heart. Because it was the first time that some of them were at the Provincial House, Sister Jadwiga, Archivist of the Province shared with them the history of the Company and showed the Memorial Room of Sister Róża Okęcka, who died in the odour of sanctity.

The Sisters then offered delicious lunch to the young people and with new strength they went to Mass at St. Anna Church. After the celebration, they went sightseeing in the old town and its surroundings under the guidance of students from the Academic Chaplaincy of St. Cross Basilica in Warsaw. The youth ended the day with a common rosary and a Marian hymn.

The next day, June 28 in the morning, immediately after a short prayer and a quick breakfast, the Sisters and the young people took the train for Cracow. They were welcomed by a group of seminarians from the Congregation of the Mission. The group explored and admired Cracow’s monuments, guided by a deacon who gave explanations in an interesting way. Around 6 p.m., tired but very happy, the young people reached Piekary, where the Festival of the Young – Vincentiana 2021 was taking place.

Vincentiana is a festival of young people organized by the Congregation of the Mission. This year, the festival took place on June 28 – 01 July in Piekary near Cracow and gathered nearly 200 people from all over the country. Fr. Jan, a Vincentian, organized and prepared conferences for the young people with this year’s festival theme “What do you want?” (Mt 20:21).

Here is what one participant of Vincentiana said:

Patrycja, age 15: “Vincentiana is a festival where young people meet to praise and worship Jesus through music. For me, it was an amazing experience, it was not only having the opportunity of meeting inspiring people and listening to great concerts, it was also praying and having workshops for self-development. However, what captivated me the most in Vincentiana was the atmosphere of joy, of smiling people and an occasion to establish many friendships.”
